Kids Week!
This past week provided some great action for the kids. Cassidy Roodvoets age 11 landed her first redfish. It just happened to be a 44 inch 28 pound fish. She did an awesome job! Greg Batton and his 5 year old son Grant joined me and my 10 year old son Dylan for a fun day on the water. Grant got his first redfish and my son landed a 25 pound red. Greg also added a nice 4 pound trout.
It was a fun week and the fishing was good. Friday was the toughest day of the week with the strong winds. Hopefully the winds will subside.
Book now for May and June. I have 15 days booked for May but days are still open. This is a great time of year to fish! Call 407-405-0819!

Catching Up Report!
What a great month! The fishing for the most part has been very good. I had a couple of slow days, but all in all a solid month. There are schools of redfish all over the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River. There are days when the fish are more aggressive and will eat just about any offering. There were a few days were they would not eat at all. As we move into spring the fish will become more aggressive and the top water bite is a great way to start the day. What a great estuary we have and if you you would like to come enjoy the area please call at 407-405-0819. I am booking for April and May with 14 days already booked for April. They will fill fast! THanks for stopping by!

Solid Week of Fishing!
The fishing has been very good this past week. We have caught some big redfish and many slot size redfish. The trout bite has also been very good. Josh Wilcox landed a nice 5 pound trout on Wednesday. He and his wife Stacy were able to boat several nice redfish and quite a few trout. It was a fun day. Thursday was another solid day as several nice redfish came to the boat. Jim and Dan scored some solid fish in a 4 hour trip. Looks like Friday and Saturday will be a blowout. March and April are solid months for fishing. The weather is great and the top water bite is always fun.

NASA Plan is Unaccpetable!
The proposed plan by NASA to build on the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge is unacceptable. Our refuge is home to 500 different species of wildlife. The refuge encompasses 140,00 acres of valuable marshes and scrub oaks which are home to 15 threatened or endangered species. There were many people who attened the meetings in Titusville and New Smyrna last week. We need more! We must be heard and let NASA know the site 1 and 2 are unacceptable. They have plenty of land to build on that has already been used in the past. Those would be the options that make sense. If you would like to let them know how you feel email: KSC-CVLC@nasa.gov or call Mario Busacca, Environmental Program at 321-867-8456> Let your voice be heard!

Fishing Good Between Fronts
The fishing has been pretty good between the fronts. Timing is everything. I have lost several charters due to the weather, but spring is close and March and April are good months to fish. We have managed to boat several nice redfish during our trips. Somedays the fishing is real tough and you have to work to earn a bite. Other days the fish seem content to play with a properly placed lure. We are blessed to have such a beautiful place to fish and observe the many types of wildlife that roam the Mosquito Lagoon. This is the start of my busy seasoon and I have 14 days booked for March and April is filling fast. Call and book your adventure! 407-405-0819

I am currently booking for March and April. Both months are a great time to get out. The fish begin to feed more aggressively as their metabolism increases. Top water plugs become a staple of each day. The weather warms and you will find many 'Chamber of Commerce' days on the water.

Just Back From Miami Boat Show
What a way to end the boat show. I was able to sneak off to Biscayne Bay today with Capt. Bob Branham. With 15 plus mph winds Bob put me on plenty of bonefish. The best one was a 9 pound bone. It made my week. If you want to catch bonefish in Biscayne Bay Bob is the best down there with 30 years experience. He is also the nicest guy you will ever fish with.

The Boat show was great and we had a lot of fun. The new Hell's Bay Boca Grande is one hot boat. Back on the Mosquito Lagoon Thursday.

Schools Everywhere!
Tuesday was another fine day on the lagoon. Nathaniel Wygand had a fun day playing with some redfish. The first fish of the day was a nice 31 inch redfish. The shcools were working toward the boat all morning as we boated several nice redfish. Batteries died on the camera. It was a fun day for Nate and myself. Last year Nate landed a 38 pound redfish. Back on the water Sunday for an afternoon trip with another repeat client.

Book now for the later part of February and March as the days are filling fast. I will be at the Miami International Boat Show next weekend with my boat sponsor Hell's Bay. Call 407-405-0819!

Great Start To February!
Sunday got things off to a nice start. Jeff and Wiliam managed to catch reds on the flats for the first time. We had a great time and redfish were all over the place. There were schools and tailing fish. It was a fun day and the weather was great!
Monday was another solid day! The morning bite was tough. The later bite was the key for Dick, Warrick and Jerry. Some nice Slobberknockers decided to eat and Warrick from Alaska found out what a Slobberknocker is all about! It was a fun day with some of my favorite clients!

Wind Blown Fish
The winds blew on Sunday, but that did not stop Jeff and his guys from catching some fish. We had 20 mph winds all day and I tried to move them to a better day. But it was the only day they could fish so we went. I even told Jeff that our chances would be slim to none on catching fish. I was wrong. The guys boated 19 trout and 6 redfish on the day. Not bad for those conditions. The fishing is improving and it seems like the weather is also. Book now for February and March. CAll 407-405-0819

Southern Snookin' SLOBBERKNOCKER Style!
What a great night! Darren and I were on one boat and Doug, JD and the infamous Ricky Bobby were on Doug's boat. We battled snook all night. We kept the identity of Ricky Bobby hidden so the press would leave him alone. All the fish were caught on jigs and we had a blast doing it! We had perfect conditons and the tide was right along with the full moon. No telling what would have happened with live bait. We landed 15 snook and missed several. Some of the fish would just wear you out. It was one awesome night!

This is a great time of year to fish. Especially if you like to go skinny and catch fish in a foot of water. Test your skills and see how many you can catch. It is like target practice. Sometimes the fish are tailing and sometimes they are crusing. It is a blast and really cool to see them eat your bait. You have a great feeling of accomplishment when they eat your bait. Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show
Just got back from 3 days at the boat show. Incredible show! They say Miami is bigger and I don't know how. I joined the Chris Peterson, owner of Hell's Bay Boatworks for the weekend and it was a great time. We met a lot fo people from all over the country and many from right here in Central Florida. There was one boat that was on the market for $160,000,000 and for a mere $700,000 you could go for a ride. That did not include expenses. I just broke out the check book and off we went! NOT! It was amazing to see all those boats and the price tags on them. It was a great time!
Hopefully we will get back on the water toward the end fo the week. Book now for November and December.

Weekend Update!
The weekend was exciting and we had some good times on the water. Thursday I fished with Kim and Steve Kleinlein. Steve had fished with me before, but Kim had never been on the flats. What a great day for both Kim and Steve as they boated some nice redfish. They had two double hook-ups and some nice redfish were landed. We looked at some manatees and dolphin them called it a day. Great fun!
Friday and Saturday I fished the Redbone Celebrity Tournament. Theis event supports Cystic Fibirosis and it is a fun event. I fished for Team Hell's Bay and JC and Jake did a great job. We were tied for third place after day one with a good shot to win. Well, day two the fish did not cooperate as well, but we managed to finish in 6th place. The great thing about these events is everyone wins because it if for a good cause. We had a blast.

Great Fishing! 84 Reds- Friday = 8 Saturday =32 Sunday = 28 Monday = 16!
The last 4 days have been awesome! We have boated 84 redfish in the since Friday. Friday was the slowest day of the four. Craig and Tom landed 8 redfish and some real nice trout. It was a fun day on the water. Saturday was a multi-boat charter and the fish were on fire. I was joined by Roger Adkins and Laurie Esler of Ringpower. They lit it up and boated 32 redfish on the day. Laurie had never fished much and after a few casting lessons she put a hurtin' on the reds. Sunday was just about as hot. Darren House and Doug Smith joined me again for the "Hunt for Reds' tournament. The idea is to catch the fish with the most spots. We managed a six spot fish out of the 28 we landed. We missed a few but had a blast catching fish all day.
Monday my good friend and client Carl Rosa joined me for a day of fun and relaxation. What a great day! We boated 16 redfish and 3 nice trout. It was an awesome morning of fishing! The rest of this week is taken with Tuesday and Wednesday off.

Solid Day of Fishing!
Craig and his son Ashley came from England to try flats fishing and they had a real nice day. Ashley got the first redfish and then it was steady action most of the day. Craig landed some real nice redfish and we ended up boating 12 reds for the day. Along with the redfish we got 4 nice trout and several smaller ones. The fun fish of the day came when Craig jumped a 10-12 pound tarpon. The fish hit right by the boat and jumped about 4 feet out of the water before spitting the hook. The guys got a close look at some manatees today also. It was just a great day with some fun guys the other side of the big pond.

Three Good Days of Fishing Fun!
The last 3 days of fishing have been loaded with good times and plenty of fish. Tueday Ron Widener and his friend Rick landed a slam. The guys caught 7 redfish, hooked 4 snook and landed 2 plus they got a real nice trout. Rick managed to land a few whiskered sea bass (catfish) also. It was a fun day. Wednesday Carl and Joe joined me again for a great time. We got 3 nice redfish and several good trout. The guys had shots at a school of 500 plus big reds, but they had their running shoes on. We had a blast!
Thursday I fished with half of the 'Reel Animals' Mike Anderson and a couple of his friends from Tampa Ryan Simmons and Bill from Budwieser. These guys lit it up and boated 16 redfish. We had two triple hook-ups and two doubles. The guys landed some awesome fish. We also got several trout to end the day! Great people and great fun! That is what fishing is all about!

Smokin' Hot, Hot, Warm - Friday -Sunday Report
Friday was off the charts! I was joined by Dave Hendrick, and his friends Travis and Bob. Bob had never caught a redfish before. Well, that has changed now. The trio hooked 61 redfish and landed 56! It was totally insane from the first cast until 9:30 the bite was non-stop. Even after it slowed we never went more than 10 minutes without a fish. Great guys, great fishing and most importantly great fun! The guys tied my boat record for the most reds on a charter.
Saturday was another hot day of fishing. Alan Falk from Alabama joined me and accomplished a first for him, he got his first snook! Alan had 3 reds and snook in the boat before 7 am. We ended up with 8 redfish and the snook for the first part of the morning. We had shots at some big redfish until another boat decided to idle all the way across the flat. Oh well. We left the first spot and found a great trout and ladyfish bite. We caught over 30 of the trout and ladyfish.
Saturday started witha bang as Alan popped a 2-1/2 pound trout right away. Then it was totally cold for the next hour. We went to another spot and poled the flat. This area had been producing some nice fish. Alan got 1 red. Maybe the weather had something to do with the day. We did manage to catch a few more trout. It was a great two days of fishing! We had some great fun!

Slam Today!
What a fun day on the water for Rob and Becky. The day started with Rob landing a 37 inch redfish on a MirrOmullet top water plug. It looked like Jaws chasing down a victim. After that we got a few trout and moved to the next spot. Rob broke out the fly rod and nabbed a 26 inch snook. The slam was complete. What to do next? We head to the next stop and find plenty of bait. In the distance (300 yards) I see bait flying and fish crashing. It looked like jacks from that distance. No, it was redfish in the 20-40 pound range. We got to the fish and tossed out the MirrOlure Top Dog Jr. and we tripled up on big reds! Awesome! We lost the school as they headed to deep water. As I poled the shoreline we had shots at a tarpon and several black drum which would have given us a grand slam. Rob pulled out 2 more redfish and we called it a day! Becky landed the largest fish of the day! New photos in gallery!

Nice Reds Despite the Wind
We did not catch as many fish the last 2 trips, but there were some quality fish landed. After taking Monday and Tuesday off it was back to the fishing. Things were a little different this past week. We had a low pressure area sitting off the coast and it was windy, windy ,windy! Despite the wind we managed some nice fish. Richard Blough got 4 nice redfish and we added a few trout and ladyfish on Wednesday. We had a great time!
Friday the wind was really humping out of the northeast. Darren and Craig joined me for what I knew would be a tough day. Even with the howling winds Darren landed a huge red. We got a few whiskered sea bass (aka catfish) also. We still had a great time. Starting Sunday I will be on the water 18 straight days unless the weather changes that, so book now for October. I do have other guides which I highly recommend so call if you need to go in September. Call 407 -405-0819! Photos in Gallery.

Weekend Update!
The fishing remained solid on Saturday. I was joined by Don Beverly, Lloyd Beverly and Jake. Don and his brother own Harrell and Beverly Transmission Service in Sanford. They maintain my Exterra and do a great job. The fishing was a little slower but we did manage to land 7 redfish today. We had to work hard for the fish. We had shots at some real big reds, but they did not want to play. We had a lot of fun and some good laughs today.
Sunday produced a windy day. I was joined by long time clients Ted and Rick Haines and their friend Paul Zirakian. We were on a school of big reds right away, but they did not play. Finally after an hour or so of great effort by the guys Paul was rewarded with a 25 pound redfish. We left that school and fished another school for 2 hours. The fish were out of their minds and would not eat today. We landed a few trout and hooked a ladyfish. It was fun as always and we had a great time. Sometimes the fish don't cooperate.

Fantastic Week of Fishing!
This past week has been great! Wednesday Rick Vrabel and his son Tanner joined me for some fast and furious redfish action. The duo boated 17 redfish and Tanner had a monster fish shake the hook after a 20 minute fight. After the redfish slowed we nailed a few trout and ladyfish and called it a day. It was an awesome day for the guys from Texas.
Thursday I was joined by my client Dan Shaw and his boys Jake and Justin. What a fun day. Jake landed the first fish of the morning before the sun was up. The fish just happened to be 15 pounds of redfish. We caught 10 more redfish before the day was over. The boys also landed a few trout. ANother fun day on the water.
Friday was another fun day as Bob Rowlette, his wife Jan and their daughter Merideth. The ladies put a hurtin' on Bob. The trio boated 11 redfish and we had 2 slip away. Merideth and Jan led the way. We got a few trout to finish the day.

The Bite is Hot and The SLOBBERKNOCKERS Are Chewin'
The bite is great and my clients have landed 3 redfish over 40 pound since Friday. Two of the fish pushed close to 50 pounds. Keith York landed one that was real close and so did RJ Barnica. Using the weight formula the fish was 49 pounds. RJ is only 9 years old. That is the second largest fish ever caught on my boat. Heck, I have never landed one that big. Plan your trip now with one of the most booked guides on the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River Lagoon. I average 20 charters per month. We are averaging 12-15 redfish per day and a whole bunch of trout. There is a reason for that, I LOVE SEEING YOU CATCH FISH! WE HAVE FUN AND THAT IS THE MOST IMPOTRTANT THING! Friday was another great day. I was joined by two long time clients and friends Keith and Will. The day started early with Keith landing a nice red before sunrise. That was just the beginning. Both Keith and Will landed some big redfish!. The fish of the week belongs to Keith! I did not weigh the fish so I could have a safe release. The fish was 40 plus pounds. The picture tells the story. After landing 9 redfish we played with over 40 trout to finish the day. What a great week!

INCREDIBLE DAY!!!!!
Dean Shoemaker and his 10 year old son Tyler joined me today for an INCREDIBLE day of fishing. Dean and Tyler landed 17 redfish today with the largest over 30 pounds. The guys used a team effort to land the big SLOBBERKNOCKER! After catching all the redfish we went trout fishing and it was pure catching. I lost count of how many trout we landed but it was every cast for a solid hour. The first 20 minutes the trout were 16 -23 inches and we also got a few ladyfish. When I first spotted the fish they looked like jacks. They were crashing glass minnows. It was totally awesome! Tyler kept count of the fish hed landed and it was 43 just for him. A modest estimate between trout, redfish and ladyfish would be over 70 fish total. It was a stellar day! We had a blast today!

What A Great Week So Far! Hot fishing!
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were three great days of fishing. Monday I was joined by Chris and Laurel for day of testing a boat and fishing. We fished from a Hell's Bay Devil Ray. It is a 14 foot boat and I was impressed by the boat. The fishing was even better. Chris and Laurel doubled up. The cool thing was Chris was using a fly and Laurel was casting a MirrOLure 17 MR. Chris managed to land two fish on fly. We boated 8 fish for the day. Laurel got the big fish of the day that went 14 pounds.
Tuesday I was joined by JC and Jake. There dad is the owner of Hell's Bay and I took them out for their birthdays. We had a great day as we landed 7 slot reds to start the day. Then the dolphin put on show. We would release the fish away from the dolphin and the fish would go under the boat to hide. The dolphin would charge the boat and the fish would leave and bam, he was chewed up by the dolphin. I thought the dolphin were going to jump in the boat. We left that spot and went for big fish. We found them and JC hooked and landed a 29 pound redfish. After that we found another school and Jake got a 17 pounder to end the day. I will post JC's fish when I get the photo. My camera was acting funny.
Wednesday I had three generations a when Carl Rivenbark, his son David and grandson Zach joined me for some fun. What a great day as we boated 1 small red, 7 reds that were between 15 and twenty pounds and the BIG SLOBBERKNOCKER that David landed. This photo does not do justice to this fish. The fish had massive shoulders and girth. It was all I could do to lift it over the side of the boat. We had a blast!

Fishing With my Son
Tuesday was an off day so I took my son and Steve C fishing. What a great time we had. My son landed two fish that weighed close to 25 pounds. It is fun to watch him battle these fish. Each year he gets a little stronger and his angling skills are pretty good. He did an awesome job fighting the fish. We also caught quite a few trout and ladyfish. Hard to beat memories like that.
July 4 I was joined by Wenday and Shane. The weather was not ideal but we had a good day. Wendy started the morning by catching the first four fish. Shane got on the board with a nice 14 pound redfish. The reds were not behaving very well so we opted for some trout and ladyfish action. We ended up with 3 keeper trout and several ladyfish. Wendy also caught a bluefish, a croaker and a catfish to go along with her trout.
Thursday Maureen and Chris joined me and Chris landed a nice 13 pound redfish. Maureen landed the largest fish of the day at 35 pounds. We were catching a few trout and ladyfish when the weather went south. Needless to say we got alittle wet. It was a great time!

"Doc" and Crew Land Some Nice Reds
I fished with an old friend on Monday. I was joined by a former co-worker Jim "Doc" Terwilliger, Randy Bratton and JT. The morning started with a big slurp as a nice redfish smakced Doc's MirrOLure Poppa Dog. It was still dark when the fish inhaled the plug. Doc had a nice battle for the next 10-12 minutes. After landing the fish we snapped a few photos and then JT was nailed by a red on the MirrOLure 17 MR. This was a nice 22 inch redfish which they took home for dinner. We left that area and headed to the next stop. We found a school of 200 plus reds and JT nailed one that went 28 inches. The school was real spooky after that so we moved on. Now it was Randy's turn and Randy got a nice 14 pound redfish out of a school of 150 redfish. Randy battled his fish for a good 15 minutes as the fish refused to give up. After boating the fish we were moving in for another shot when another boat came in and ran right over the school. Needless to say that school was finished. We went to catch some trout and JT caught one before the weather went south. It was a great day and we had a blast.

Hot-Hot-Hot Fishing BIG SLOBBERKNOCKER REDS
The fishing has been really great for the month of June. July will be just as good if not better. We are catching big redfish everyday and the weather is great. Friday I was joined by an old friend from High School Jeff Forbes and his wife Lisa. We had an absolute blast. Both Jeff and Lisa got the largest redfish they have ever caught. That just topped off my week. Jeff and I were able to catch up on a few things and it was a great day. That is exactly why I love this job, if you can call it a job. Thanks!
Now is the time to book for July. I have been really busy the last 4 months averaging 20 charters per month. I book fast in July and August. Give me a call and let's go get a trophy redfish! 407-405-0819 Thanks for stopping by the site!

Solid Fishing/Semianr Tonight
Wednesday was another solid day of big redfish. I was joined by Paul and Cynthia Taylor of Texas. They had fished with me last year and we did well on the big reds. This year was no different. The fish were there and we had a nice day of catching some big fish. Paul landed the largest fish this year, but Cynthia had the largest last year. Paul also had the biggest fish of the day pull the hook. The fish got into some grass and wiggled free. It was an awesome day on th water. We did get two ladyfish later.
Thursday was the last of 3 days fishing with my friends from Wales, Barrie and Gavin. These guys are fun to fish with and we had a blast. Gavin was up a few fish on Barrie, but today was Barrie's day. The conditions were a little tough with clouds above and very little sunshine. We were on tailing fish from the start. Barrie hooked the first fish 2 hours later. The next fish came much sooner than the first and then Barrie landed his third. Finally Gavin hooked into a good fish and the fish hit a crab pot and broke the line. It was not long after that that Gavin hooked and landed his big red for the day. The wind and clouds only got worse and made for tough sight fishing. Thanks for a great 3 days Barrie and Gavin!

Book now for July and August. I will be at Gander Mountain in Lake Mary tonight at 7 p.m.

Redfish A Little Fussy Monday and Tuesday
The fishing was okay the last 2 days. We managed to boat 3 big reds each day. Monday Barrie and Gavin from Wales joined me again. We boated 3 reds between 15 and 20 pounds along with a few nice trout and Barrie got his first ladyfish. Great guys to fish with and we had a fun day at the office.
Tuesday I was joined by Ray and Joe from Texas. We were on schools all day and had five bites and landed 3 nice redfish. Ray got the first one and Joe landed the next 2 fish. One of Joe's pushed the 25 pound mark. It was each of the guys first redfish. Not a bad way to start. Each day is a new experience and a lo
